I was losing the one thing I could not afford to lose. My most precious possession and most dangerous weapon – my mind.
Plot Summary
Silent. Cold. Chiselled perfection. That is Rikkard Ambrose, the most powerful business mogul in Great Britain.
Free-spirited. Fiery. Definitely NOT attracted to the aforementioned business mogul. That is Lilly Linton, his personal secretary and secret weapon.
The two have been playing a cat and mouse game for months. So far, Lilly has been able to fight down and deny her attraction to Mr Ambrose. But what happens when suddenly, the dark secrets of his past begin to surface and they are forced to go on a perilous journey into the South-American jungle? A journey they can only survive if they band together?

My Review
After being yet again cornered by her aunt with possible future husbands, Lilly needs to get away…fast. How can she possibly do that? Easy. By convincing Mr. Ambrose to travel to the amazonian jungle with the prospect of finding a hidden treasure.
“Nobody could say nothing like Mr Ambrose.”
That should be easy, right? Wrong. Between the hot jungle and getting in the middle of the war between rebels and imperialists, Mr. Ambrose, Lilly and Karim have a lot to handle. Well, Mr. Ambrose and Karim have the most difficult part. Between all the problems written above, they have to deal with the most dangerous things: the devious ways of Miss Lillian Linton.
I think I never laugh so hard while reading a book. Robert Thier did it again. I love to see how Lilly struggled with her emotions vs her inner feminist. The way she ‘tortured’ poor Karim was hilarious.
‘What is she laughing about?’ Karim demanded, still in the bushes. ‘Is she taking her clothes off again?’ ‘No, Karim. You can come out of there now.’ ‘If you say so, Sahib.’
What a breath of fresh air! I normally re-read this every year when I’m in a reading slump. Always gets me out of it.
Highlight Moments

Quotes
War is a monster that devours gold and shits death at the other end.’
