Kingdom of the Feared (Kingdom of the Wicked #3) by Kerri Maniscalco

“I’m the king of the underworld. The spirit realm is under my domain. And even if it wasn’t, do you really believe a lone werewolf would stop me from getting to you?”

Trigger Warning: Violence/ Self-harm to get blood/ Grief/ Murder

Plot Summary

Emilia is reeling from the shocking discovery that her twin sister, Vittoria, is alive. But before she faces the demons of her past, Emilia yearns to claim her king, the seductive Prince of Wrath, in the flesh. Emilia doesn’t simply desire his body, she wants his heart and soul—but that’s something the enigmatic demon can’t promise her.

When a high-ranking member of House Greed is assassinated, Emilia and Wrath are drawn to the rival demon court. Damning evidence points to Vittoria as the murderer and she’s quickly declared an enemy of the Seven Circles. Despite her betrayal, Emilia will do anything to solve this new mystery and find out who her sister really is.

Together Emilia and Wrath play a sin-fueled game of deception as they work to stop the unrest that’s brewing between witches, demons, shape-shifters and the most treacherous foes of all: the Feared.

Emilia was warned that when it came to the Wicked nothing was as it seemed. But, have the true villains been much closer all along? When the truth is finally revealed, it just might end up costing Emilia her heart.

Two curses.

One prophecy.

A reckoning all have feared.

And a love more powerful than fate. All hail the king and queen of Hell.

My Review

What an ending to this amazing trilogy. Kerri Maniscalco went big with this one. You think you have most of the answers by now? Forget them. Scratch them. Burn them. The twists in this book are mind blowing. It was magnificently written to capture the attention of the reader from beginning till end. It was by far my favourite of the series. Absolutely perfect!

Seeing the actual relationship between Wrath and Emilia was so sweet. The way they love each other fiercely and despite all odds and obstacles. Wrath in love is such a cute creature. The sex scenes were greatly written and were HOT as hell. For me, there was the perfect amount of romance so it didn’t turn boring. Also, there were a lot of twists, plot and action for it to be boring.

All in all, I think the secrets were revealed perfectly and I loved how it all turned out at the end.

I would love to read more stories focusing on Wrath’s brothers because I simply love some of them: Lust, Envy and…Pride (a very recent passion since I didn’t like him before but now I understand him a bit).

The way it ended tells me a spin-off is coming, I mean, it has to come because I can’t simply not know what will happen to certain characters! I NEED TO KNOW!

Quotes

He was mine. Every inch of his wicked soul, every steady thump of his heart, belonged to me.

“If anyone chains you again, I will become every nightmare mortals have ever had of me and then some.”

“You are one cunning, magnificent demon. And I’m pleased you’re mine. Even if I did just wish to strangle you.”

“If you die on me now, I’ll hunt you down and drag you back.” “Sounds rather threatening.” “It’s a fucking promise, my lady.”

“And he is her fate. As she is his. ‘As above, so below.’
