Plot Summary
Before the Endless Moon, when the Erlking means to capture one of the seven gods and make a wish to return his lover, Perchta, from the underworld, Serilda and Gild attempt to break the curses that tether their spirits to Adalheid’s haunted castle. But it soon becomes clear that the Erlking’s hunger for vengeance won’t be satisfied with a single wish, and his true intentions have the power to alter the mortal realm forever. Serilda and Gild must try to thwart his wicked plans, all while solving the mystery of Gild’s forgotten name, freeing the ghosts kept in servitude to the dark ones, and trying to protect their unborn child.
My Review
In the sequel of Gilded, a retelling of Rumpelstiltskin, we continue to follow the magical story of Serilda after she was taken by the Erlking and forced to spin straw into gold. The Erlking plans are far more twisted than we expected in the first book.
In this sequel the story is more focused on the Erlking story with the gods and how he lost his lover. There aren’t many scenes with Serilda and Gild but the ones that exist are full of love and so sweet.
Marissa Meyer is such a unique storyteller, capable of engulfing us in her magical worlds. If you like retellings, you have to give this story a chance because it’s so rich and full of magic, with very loveable characters and a twisty plot to die for. Truly amazing.

Sinopse
Antes da Lua Sem Fim, quando o Erlking pretende capturar um dos sete deuses e pedir um desejo para devolver a sua amada, Perchta, do submundo, Serilda e Gild tentam quebrar as maldições que prendem os seus espíritos ao castelo assombrado de Adalheid. Mas rapidamente se torna claro que a fome de vingança do Erlking não será satisfeita com um único desejo, e as suas verdadeiras intenções têm o poder de alterar o reino mortal para sempre. Serilda e Gild têm de tentar impedir os seus planos perversos, ao mesmo tempo que resolvem o mistério do nome esquecido de Gild, libertam os fantasmas mantidos em servidão pelas trevas e tentam proteger o filho que ainda não nasceu.
A Minha Opinião
Na sequela de Gilded, um Rumpelstiltskin reimaginado, continuamos a seguir a história mágica de Serilda depois de ter sido levada pelo Erlking e forçada a transformar palha em ouro. Os planos do Erlking são muito mais retorcidos do que esperávamos no primeiro livro.
Nesta sequela, a história centra-se mais na história do Erlking com os deuses e na forma como perdeu a sua amada. Não há muitas cenas com Serilda e Gild mas as que existem são cheias de amor e tão doces.
Marissa Meyer é uma contadora de histórias única, capaz de nos envolver nos seus mundos mágicos. Dá uma oportunidade a esta história pois é tão rica e cheia de magia, com personagens muito adoráveis e um enredo com reviravoltas inacreditáveis. Verdadeiramente fantástico.
