Plot Summary

Danika Brown knows what she wants: professional success, academic renown, and an occasional roll in the hay to relieve all that career-driven tension. But romance? Been there, done that, burned the T-shirt. Romantic partners, whatever their gender, are a distraction at best and a drain at worst. So Dani asks the universe for the perfect friend-with-benefits—someone who knows the score and knows their way around the bedroom.

When brooding security guard Zafir Ansari rescues Dani from a workplace fire drill gone wrong, it’s an obvious sign: PhD student Dani and ex-rugby player Zaf are destined to sleep together. My Review

Before this book, I already read Get a Life, Chloe Brown and Act Your Age, Eve Brown so it was a bit out of order but that’s ok. The couples are mentioned but nothing serious to the storyline.

So far, Talia Hibbert hasn’t disappointed me. She’s consistent in bringing us sunny, delightful, spicy and serious content through amazing couples that struggle with some kind of issue.

In this book, we follow the story of Dani Brown, she’s career driven and doesn’t want relationships. Zafir and Dani are friends, but when he rescues her from an elevator and the whole thing ends up online, things change.

They agree to fake a relationship and well…we all know how these agreements work right? They fall head over heels in love with each other.

I really enjoyed how Talia switched the roles a bit in this book, it’s nice to see something different once in a while. Here we have Zaf, a sensitive, vulnerable romantic man who is also a former sports star! Dani was a socially awkward, cynical female with a guarded heart, who struggled with her emotions and feelings, and was slow to open up to people. So it was a reversal which is a breath of fresh air since we don’t get to see that a lot.

I highly recommend this series. They are really good light reads that also deal a lot with mental health.

De repente, a simples voltinha que Dani esperava dar com Zaf torna-se bem mais complexa. Será o Universo a dar-lhe uma dica?

A Minha Opinião

Antes deste livro, já tinha lido Acorda para a Vida, Chloe Brown e Act Your Age, Eve Brown, por isso estava um pouco fora de ordem, mas não faz mal. Os casais são mencionados mas nada de grave para o enredo.

Até agora, Talia Hibbert não me desiludiu. Ela é consistente em trazer-nos conteúdo alegre e picante mas sério através de casais fantásticos que lutam com algum tipo de problema.

Neste livro, acompanhamos a história de Dani Brown, que tem uma carreira profissional e não quer relacionamentos. Zafir e Dani são amigos, mas quando ele a salva de um elevador e tudo acaba online, as coisas mudam.

Concordam em fingir uma relação e bem… todos sabemos como funcionam estes acordos, certo? Eles apaixonam-se perdidamente um pelo outro.

Gostei muito da forma como Talia trocou um pouco os papéis neste livro, é bom ver algo diferente de vez em quando. Aqui temos Zaf, um homem sensível, vulnerável e romântico que é também uma antiga estrela do desporto! Dani era uma mulher socialmente inábil, cínica, com um coração reservado, que lutava com as suas emoções e sentimentos e demorava a abrir-se às pessoas. Por isso, foi uma reviravolta que é uma lufada de ar fresco, uma vez que não vemos isso muitas vezes.

Recomendo vivamente esta série. São leituras ligeiras muito boas que também abordam muito a saúde mental.
