My Review

And yet again Ana Huang had me losing sleep just to finish a book of hers. I live for these tropes and Ana uses them fantastically.

I had my suspicions that silent and mysterious Kai Young would be anything but. Kai was a bit of a snob and a nerd. All dressed well, never went to clubs that weren’t at his finest and his hobby was translating books to latin. I really love nerds so…

Isabella was sassy, charming and very sweet. I instantly liked her. She was always caught by Kai talking about very sensitive issues (aka glowing condoms). She always showed confidence but, deep down, she was full of insecurities. She was a complex character and I loved that about her.

Their chemistry was very present from the beginning and I really enjoyed seeing the build-up. I lived for the jealous Kai. Whenever he saw Isabella talking to other men, silent and composed Kai turned into caveman style.

Despite the pressure of his work and having to do whatever it took to win the position of CEO of his family business, I loved how Kai always put Isabella first.

Other characters from the Twisted series make a little appearance but it’s Dante and Vivian, from King of Wrath, who interact the most with our couple from this book.

Now it’s confirmed Dominic and Alessandra’s book and I can’t wait to delve into their marriage and its issues. As for the other books, there are several possibilities but the one I’m most curious about is Vuk Markovic (Seb), the silent, pale blue eyes with a big scar on his face. I live for the mysterious characters and this one is the most mysterious. The man doesn’t utter a single word and his presence is intimidating. I can’t wait to know his story, and yes, Ana will have to write his book otherwise I’ll riot. I’m guessing Ana is going to torture us and leave his story for last since is the most mysterious one.

You don’t have to read the previous books (Twisted series and King of Wrath) to understand this story but I would advise you to do so since the characters from the other books make appearances.

Isabella Valencia é ousada, impulsiva e cheia de vida, nunca conheceu uma festa de que não gostasse ou um homem que não conseguisse encantar… excepto Kai Young. Isso não deveria importar. Ele não é o seu tipo – o homem traduz clássicos para latim por diversão, e o facto de ser membro do clube exclusivo onde ela trabalha como empregada de bar significa que ele está estritamente fora dos limites. Mas ela não pode negar que, por baixo do seu exterior frio, está um homem que a pode fazer derreter com apenas um toque. Por muito que tentem, não conseguem resistir a ceder aos seus desejos proibidos. Mesmo que isso lhes custe tudo.

A Minha Opinião

E mais uma vez Ana Huang fez-me perder o sono só para terminar um livro seu. Eu vivo para estes tropos e a Ana usa-os de forma fantástica.

Tinha as minhas suspeitas de que o silencioso e misterioso Kai Young seria tudo menos isso. Kai era um pouco snobe e um nerd. Vestia-se bem, nunca ia a discotecas que não fossem as melhores e o seu passatempo era traduzir livros para latim. Eu adoro nerds, por isso…

Isabella era atrevida, encantadora e muito doce. Gostei logo dela. Ela era sempre apanhada por Kai a falar de assuntos muito inadequados (aka preservativos brilhantes). Mostrava-se sempre confiante mas, no fundo, estava cheia de inseguranças. Era uma personagem complexa e eu adorava isso nela.
A química entre os dois estava muito presente desde o início e gostei muito de ver o seu desenvolvimento. Eu vivia para o ciumento Kai. Sempre que via Isabella a falar com outros homens, Kai, silencioso e composto, transformava-se num homem das cavernas.

Apesar da pressão do seu trabalho e de ter de fazer tudo para ganhar o lugar de director-geral da empresa da família, adorei a forma como Kai colocou sempre Isabella em primeiro lugar.
Outras personagens da série Twisted fazem uma pequena aparição, mas são Dante e Vivian, de King of Wrath, que mais interagem com o nosso casal deste livro.

Agora está confirmado o livro de Dominic e Alessandra e mal posso esperar para me aprofundar no seu casamento e nos seus problemas. Quanto aos outros livros, há várias possibilidades, mas a que mais me deixa curiosa é Vuk Markovic (Seb), o personagem silencioso, de olhos azuis claros e uma grande cicatriz no rosto. Vivo para as personagens misteriosas e esta é a mais misteriosa. O homem não diz uma única palavra e a sua presença é intimidante. Mal posso esperar para conhecer a sua história e, sim, a Ana vai ter de escrever o seu livro, senão vou revoltar-me. Acho que a Ana vai torturar-nos e deixar a história dele para o fim, pois é a mais misteriosa.

Não é preciso ler os livros anteriores (série Twisted e King of Wrath) para perceber esta história mas aconselho a que o façam pois as personagens dos outros livros aparecem nesta história.
