Plot Summary

Saint.

Virtuous. Kind. Patient.

These were words never associated with Gabriel Saint.

He was a monster. The devil that haunted the city of Redhill.

And he had found me.

I’d managed to hide for a while from my past, present and future.

But I should have known they’d come looking, after all I had the heir of the city in my arms, and if there is anything I do know about the ruling crime family of this city, it’s that family comes before all else.

When Gabriel comes for me, I fight but know it’s useless, and when he forces me to be his wife, I vow to make his life as miserable as possible.

But there was something about the man. Something I wanted to unravel, pick apart so I could find all the pieces that made him who he was.

What I found was not what I expected.

He wants my heart.

He wants me to his wife in more ways than just that piece of paper that binds us.

And the more time I spend trapped with the mafia boss in his clifftop house, the more pieces of me he steals.

But with this life comes blood and violence, and there was someone determined to make us pay.

My Review

This was my first book from this author and it won’t be my last. This is a dark mafia romance which is a trope I really enjoy.

In this story we have Gabriel Saint, a ruthless don, who owns the entire city and has so much blood and violence on his hands. After his brother’s disappearance, Gabriel assumes his role as the head of the family and is intent on bringing his baby nephew, whom he’s brother never interacted with, to his house. His plan is simple: get the baby, kill the mother. But the second he looks at her beauty and at how feisty she is, he can’t do it so he takes her too instead and forces her to marry him.

Amelia is a really strong character that drives Gabriel’s men crazy with her attempts to escape and her violence but they end up liking her…almost all of them at least. At first, Amelia hates Gabriel and wants nothing to do with him but throughout the story their relationship begins to change and soon Amelia finds herself wanting to be with him.

The spice in this book was completely off the charts and their relationship turned out to be amazing. I loved how he sometimes spoke Italian to her and was always expressing his feelings for her.

The end of the book had me biting my nails, I was so stressed with the awful situation they were both in.

I hope the author writes the story of some other characters, such as Enzo. I really liked him and wanted to know more about him since he’s so mysterious.

Mas eu devia saber que eles viriam à procura, afinal de contas eu tinha o herdeiro da cidade nos meus braços, e se há alguma coisa que eu sei sobre a família criminosa dominante desta cidade, é que a família vem antes de tudo.

Quando Gabriel vem atrás de mim, eu luto, mas sei que é inútil, e quando ele me obriga a ser sua esposa, eu juro tornar a sua vida o mais miserável possível.

Mas havia qualquer coisa no homem. Algo que eu queria desvendar, separar para poder encontrar todas as peças que faziam dele quem ele era.

O que encontrei não era o que eu esperava.

Ele quer o meu coração.

Quer que eu seja a sua mulher de mais formas do que apenas aquele pedaço de papel que nos une.

E quanto mais tempo passo presa com o chefe da máfia na sua casa no topo da falésia, mais pedaços de mim ele rouba.

Mas com esta vida vem o sangue e a violência, e havia alguém determinado a fazer-nos pagar.

A Minha Opinião

Este foi o meu primeiro livro desta autora e não será o último. Este é um romance sombrio sobre a máfia, que é um género de que gosto muito.

Nesta história temos Gabriel Saint, um mafioso implacável, dono de toda a cidade e com muito sangue e violência nas mãos. Após o desaparecimento do irmão, Gabriel assume o papel de chefe da família e pretende levar para sua casa o sobrinho bebé, com quem o irmão nunca interagiu. O seu plano é simples: levar o bebé e matar a mãe. Mas assim que olha para a sua beleza e para a sua determinação, não consegue fazê-lo e, em vez disso, leva-a também e obriga-a a casar com ele.

Amelia é uma personagem muito forte que enlouquece os homens de Gabriel com as suas tentativas de fuga e a sua violência, mas eles acabam por gostar dela… pelo menos quase todos. No início, Amelia odeia Gabriel e não quer ter nada a ver com ele, mas ao longo da história a sua relação começa a mudar e em breve Amelia dá por si a querer estar com ele.
As interações sexuais neste livro eram fantásticas e muito bem detalhadas e a relação deles acabou por ser fantástica.

Adorei como ele às vezes falava italiano com ela e estava sempre a expressar os seus sentimentos.

O final do livro fez-me roer as unhas, estava tão enervada com a situação horrível em que ambos se encontravam.

Espero que a autora escreva a história de outras personagens, como o Enzo. Gostei muito dele e queria saber mais sobre ele, já que é tão misterioso.
